It’s safe to say we’ve all been bitten by the travel bug… we know we have. Sitting back scrolling through our insta feed yearning for that European holiday or Asiana escape. There’s only one drawback. Traveling is effing expensive, especially if you’re on a tight budget… or you know, trying to survive Sydney rent prices. But, what if we gave you the inside scoop on how to manage your travel bug on a budget? Read on.
Okay, so let’s be real and frank. No matter what you do travel will be an expense, BUT we think it’s an expense worth taking. After all, travel is the best form of education there can be. If you don’t think so, let us rack your brain a little. When you travel to a different country you learn about a different culture, a different way of life, history, new foods, maybe you learn a new language and so on. Aside from all of that you grow as an individual on a personal level and perhaps you appreciate the little things more when you get back home.
So, let’s just get straight to the goods. Here are some awesome sites to check out if you want to travel & save some moola.
International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
Don’t freak out. If you’re not a student, don’t worry they have a card for you too. If you’re under 31 you can get an International Youth Travel Card (IYTC). Pretty cool to be considered a youth when you’re under 31, isn’t it? Oh, you’re a teacher? Cool. They’ve got a card for you, too!
A quick run-down. You’ll receive heaps of discounts to over 125+ countries, 40% airfares at STA travel and so much more. If you get a IYTC you’ll even gain access to discounts locally.
The cost in Australia? $30 AUD
The cost in America? $25 USD
That’s pretty cheap in comparison to all the savings and adventures you’ll be doing!
